Track your self-serve customers in the One Stop!

The Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) brought many significant changes to government-funded employment and training services. With increasing pressure on funding and a mandate to provide appropriate services to all customers, many of the WIA "core" services are most effectively offered as self-directed, non-staff-assisted, or "self-serve" activities available in the resource centers of One-Stop Career Development Centers.

Anticipating that the Department of Labor would eventually require reporting of aggregate numbers of customers using the resource centers in One-Stops, Washington's Workforce Investment Boards (called "Workforce Development Councils" or "WDCs" here in Washington) took a proactive approach. With WWA's facilitation and coordination, the WDCs have over the last three years developed and implemented a tracking system for "self-serve" core WIA services that is simple, inexpensive, and effective.

The WorkSource Membership System (WMS) is an internet-based system that tracks customer activities provided through the State's one-stop career development system -WorkSource. WMS is the product of a cooperative effort between Washington State Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) to gauge and report WorkSource activity, improve local management and enhance program performance.

We are now pleased to offer the WorkSource Membership System, at a very competitive price, to Workforce Investment Boards around the country. Developed with the oversight of a steering committee of workforce development professionals, you will find WMS to be that "missing piece" of technology that you need to manage work flows, report outcomes to the DOL, and serve your customers better.
